Staff Spotlight Video: Brett Osborne Fleet Dept

Staff Spotlight: Brett Osborne

Brett Osborne joins Fremont Motors as the Fleet Manager at the Casper Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram store. Brett has almost 30 years experience in the business. We asked him a few questions so you could get to know him a bit better.

Brett moved to Wyoming when he was around 10 or 11 so pretty much considers Casper, Wyoming his home, even though he was born in San Antonia, Texas. He ended up in the auto trade after being laid off in the oil industry in 1989. Brett is an expert on all things work truck and he’s usually the go-to guy when someone has a technical question about outfitted trucks, utility trucks, plow trucks, dump trucks, police interceptors, new cars, used cars, pretty much anything with four wheels.

His fleet and commercial customers are anyone from ‘mom and pop’ stores to big companies, cities, and municipalities. Bretts’ work ethic is to make sure his customers get the right vehicle for the job, not just because it’s a nice color. A common misconception Brett feels, is that people think they have to buy multiple vehicles to be considered fleet or commercial. This is not the case he said, one vehicle is enough to qualify. He also caters to individual retail customers too.

Fun Facts:

  • Blue is his favorite color
  • He likes all food but BBQ and Mexican are his favorites
  • Brett likes a little country music but classic rock (who doesn’t like a bit of Led Zeppelin?) is top for him.
  • Hobbies and interests include traveling Wyoming and other states to compete in BBQ competitions. He first got into BBQ competitions whilst on the lookout for a smoker and bumped into Mo Cason. Mo asked if Brett had ever competed and the rest, as they say was history. Brett now has many accolades for BBQing including an overall grand champion title, which he won at a competition in Worland, Wyoming. He hopes to be able to compete at the American Royal and Jack Daniels World Championship BBQ Competition.

Brett has access to any make and model vehicles. If you’d like information on a vehicle or want to talk BBQ, give him a call at 307 248-5197 or email [email protected]

Race On Ice: Casper, WY

Race On Ice: Casper, WY

Ice Racing, Casper, WY

What is Ice Racing?

This coming Sat 21st January, the Xtreme International Ice Racing will be coming to Casper as part of their tour. The speedway bikes and four-wheels are modified to compete on ice indoors. With over 2000 metal studs added to the tires, they go from 0-60 in under 3 seconds. Oh and there are no brakes!

The Speedway bikes have the equivalent of 1200cc crotch rocket engine in a mountain bike frame. The four-stroke, four-valve engine running on race fuel revs up to 14,000 rpm. ” Four laps on a speedway bike compares to 10 minutes on a motocross bike. The power (90 horsepower at the back wheel) to weight ratio (the bikes weigh only 180 pounds) is something that cannot be explained. Each rider gears his bike differently with 60 to 80 toothed sprockets, which are nearly the size of the wheel itself.” 1

Each heat consists of four riders racing for points to qualify to the next level. There will be about twenty to twenty-five races total, depending on the total number of local riders. This is where you come in. Think you have what it takes to scream around on the ice?
