What’s New on the 2020 Ford Edge

Here’s what’s new on the 2020 Ford Edge from 2019 to 2020.

Interior

Dual-zone climate control is now standard across all trim levels of the Ford Edge for 2020. Dual-zone climate control allows the driver and passenger to set their own temperature individually. Yes, the driver can set their temperature to 65F and the passenger to 80 degrees F. 

No more CD players. Yup that’s right, another decade, another music format (that’s how it seems to be going anyway). Entertainment is available through the FM/AM radio, Sirius XFM satellite radio or through a streaming option such as Pandora (subscription fees may apply).

Exterior

New colors added are;

  • Atlas Blue
  • Dark Persian Green
  • Desert Gold
  • Iconic Silver
  • Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat
  • Star White Metallic Tri-Coat

SE trim levels now have the option of black roof-rack side-rails.

Titanium Appearance Package is now available for the 2020 Ford Edge and consists of 20″ polished aluminum wheels, and body-color painted bumpers and lower side cladding with bright chrome inserts. Bright chrome accents and surround on the upper grille are also added. Dark brown and red stitching enhances door inserts as well the floormats.

Speaking of the floormats, the Titanium Appearance Package also adds an Edge logo to those whilst the instrument panel gets some bright aluminum appliques (intrecciato as Ford calls it, which is a type of weave).

Other Great Features on the 2020 Ford Edge

A wireless phone charging pad! Who doesn’t need one of those? (An optional extra on the SEL trim and up).

Intelligent All-Wheel-Drive with All-Wheel-Drive Disconnect is an available option on all trim levels.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and Lane-Keeping System is part of the Ford CoPilot360 Technology on the SEL and up.

Ford Co-Pilot360 includes standard automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, blind spot information system, lane keeping system, rear backup camera, and auto high beam lighting.

 

Engine and Economy

The 2020 Ford Edge comes equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 250 horsepower as standard.  Estimated fuel economy as per the EPA is 21 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg combined. 

Towing capacity is up to 3,500 pounds on the AWD Edge with the Class II Trailer Tow Package.

Equipped with the 335hp 2.7L twin-turbo V6 EcoBoost engine, the 2020 Ford Edge ST is a sportiest of the line-up. Capable of 0-60 in under 6 seconds, the Edge ST has sport-tuned suspension, selectable traction control, and an optional performance brake upgrade. AWD is standard seating is bolstered bucket seats with the ST logo.
