Toyota Entune. Are you looking for in an in-car infotainment system? A large 8-inch touchscreen? A navigation system? Superb phone connectivity? Easy controls for your tunes? The latest iteration of the Toyota Entune has all of that checked on its list of features and more.
Let’s talk about the Toyota Entune 3.0 and why it’s simply one of the best vehicle infotainment systems today.
Toyota Entune Overview of Features
First and foremost, there are three versions of Toyota Entune currently available on different trim levels of Toyota vehicles including
- Base Version Entune Audio
- Entune Audio Plus
- Entune Premium Audio
Since the base unit’s features will naturally come standard in the higher two versions, let’s talk about these first.
Entune Base Features
At a glance, the Entune head unit looks like a typical infotainment unit. It has four buttons on each side of the screen. Home, Menu, Audio, Info buttons on the left and Seek, Track, Phone, and Apps buttons on the right. The buttons are large and tactile enough for ease of use.
Entune Audio comes with a 7-inch touchscreen (you’ll have to upgrade to Plus and Premium for the 8-inch screen), a USB media port, hands-free phone capability, advanced voice recognition, and music streaming using Bluetooth. It also has a navigation system through the Scout GPS Link which is free to use for the first three years, after that you will have to subscribe to their service.
All Entune systems come with a 3-year trial of Safety Connect which is part of Toyota’s Connected Services. It includes Automatic Collision Notification wherein a case of an accident, a 24/7 response agent will attempt to communicate with the occupant of the vehicle and then alert the local emergency services. It also features Enhanced Roadside Assistance, an Emergency Assistance Button, and a Stolen Vehicle Locator. All of these are designed for your peace of mind.
6-Month Trial
Also available is a 6-month trial for the Verizon powered Wi-Fi Connect, which essentially turns your vehicle into a hotspot. Now all of your passengers can enjoy easy and quick Internet connection while on the road.
In addition to these amazing standard features, the Entune infotainment system also works with Apple CarPlay and Amazon Alexa.
Toyota Entune Audio Plus and Entune Premium Audio
If you want more features and of course a bigger 8-inch touchscreen, then you have to upgrade to either the Entune Audio Plus or the Entune Premium Audio. While both features a better set of JBL speakers, subwoofer, and amplifier, the Plus and Premium versions also include connected navigation applications and satellite radio (SiriusXM with a 3-month All Access trial).
Both versions have Remote Connect which gives you more ways to manage your vehicle. They also include a Guest Driver feature that sends alerts to you in case someone else is driving your vehicle. These alerts can be set for curfews, speed limits, and miles driven.
Entune also provides vehicle status alerts informing you of the current odometer reading and fuel level among others.
If you forgot where you parked your car, the Vehicle Finder helps you to locate your vehicle. If you have a smartphone or smartwatch, the Remote Door Lock/Unlock lets you open or close your doors. And lastly, the Entune system will allow you to remotely turn on the engine before you even step inside your car.
Entune Premium
Entune Premium Audio’s advantage is its navigation features. It comes with a 3-year trial of Dynamic Navigation which includes Dynamic POI Search (Point of Interest), and Dynamic Voice Recognition. Dynamic Navigation gives you access to the latest map data, updated through Wi-Fi, removing the hassle of you having to go to the dealership just to have your map updated.
Entune Premium also has the Entune App Suite which includes Destination Search (search and explore places to go), iHeartRadio (1,500 radio stations), Yelp (search reviews and locations of restaurants, stores, and more), and Slacker Radio (handcrafted radio from passionate music experts). In addition to these apps, Entune Premium provides weather updates through advanced Doppler allowing you to plan your route as you drive to avoid adverse weather conditions.
Finally, Entune Premium Audio comes with Destination Assist that gives you access to a live agent whenever you need assistance. The agent can provide you directions to fuel stations, restaurants, hotels, and POIs. It is quite handy in case you find the info on your navigation system lacking or confusing.
