Entertain kids on the go, or work from your vehicle with the built-in WiFi enabled feature on some vehicles. Here, we’ll talk about how to get wifi on a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram and figure out if it’s worth it not.

Set up an account
Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM Truck’s WiFi capability is provided by AT&T. Regardless if you already have an account with AT&T or not, you’ll need to set up a connected car account with them. Existing customers do however get a discounted rate.
Go to https://myvehicle.att.com/ , click on Sign Up, and go through the process. Most new vehicles come with a 1GB trial. Note that 1GB is not that much when it comes to streaming videos.
Activating WiFi in the vehicle
Start your vehicle, and go to Apps on your touchscreen. In Apps, select the WiFi icon. On the top right of the screen, make sure Enable WiFi is unchecked. The on the bottom middle of the screen select WiFi Hotspot Setup, then on that screen, change the password to whatever you’d like it to be, and select OK. From there, go back a page and check Enable WiFi hotspot.
Connect a device
Now you should able to connect a device to the Wifi on your Chrysler Dodge Jeep or RAM Truck. For example on an smartphone, you’d go to settings/WiFi/UConnect, and enter the password you made.
Is it worth having WiFi on a Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM Truck? My story.
I thought I had had an epiphany when I realized I could get WiFi on the truck. My daughter could do her virtual school virtually anywhere! I signed up, and as an existing AT&T customer and already paying exuberant amounts of money for two cell phones. I figured $20 a month for their unlimited plan on the truck didn’t seem that bad. We could go up the mountains of Wyoming on a school day and all would be good. Or could it?
I had some trouble with the AT&T website where their payment page wasn’t working so I ended up having to call the helpline. Other than that, the set-up process was fairly easy and straightforward and within 10 minutes I had Wifi in the truck.
Here in certain spots of Wyoming, cell service is limited, and one would assume because the service is provided by cell service, you can expect the same kind of results. Don’t expect to have service on the mountain unless it’s normally somewhere you’d normally get cell service. It is worth it to keep kids or passengers entertained if you’re staying on a main stretch of road. Several devices can be added at once and everyone can play games, watch movies, or do school work at the same time.
