3. Available Foot Activated Hands-free Liftgate
Ford Edge SEL, Titanium and Sport trim levels have available a hands-free liftgate. Making it easier to open the tailgate with a handful of groceries or a big box by simply kicking under the car.
4. Top rated safety
Awarded 5 out of 5 stars for overall safety from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The 2018 Ford Edge also score 5/5 stars for each frontal and side crash test category. An SOS Post -Crash Alert System is standard on the vehicle no matter the trim level. A Ford Safe and Smart Package is available with additional safety features such as; Adaptive Cruise Control and forward collision warning with brake support, Lane-keeping system and BLIS (Blind Spot Information).
5. SYNC3
Standard on Titanium and Sport trims, the SYNC3 infotainment system allowing smartphone integration. With an 8″ color touchscreen, AppLink and 911Assist there’s easy access to whatever you need. Compatible apps from your smartphone can be displayed on the touchscreen, such as WAZE, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. SYNC Connect allows an in-vehicle WiFi hotspot connection. (3 month/3gb data trial is given at purchase, but wireless subscription plan needed after that for WiFi).
Ford recently published an update for SYNC3 systems to now be compatible with Amazon Alexa. This allows access to voice navigation, traffic info, 50,000 plus Alexa skills, Amazon Prime shopping and supported Smart Home devices.

73.4 cu.ft of cargo space is available behind from behind the first row and 39.2 cu.ft from behind the second row. This makes the 2018 Ford Edge competitive within its class for cargo space area. Rear seats fold flat in a 60/40 configuration.

Max towing capability on the 2018 Ford Edge is 3,500 lbs with Class Trailer towing package ($435). This is 2,000 lbs more than a Honda CR-V, and the same as a 2018 Toyota RAV4 and 2018 GMC Terrain.
