Who are Roush?
Roush is an aftermarket tuning and crate engine company, that was started in 1995 by Jack Roush. Jack had a passion for racing and hot rods. Jack Roush Jr. of Roush Performance races in the Continental Tire Sportscar Challenge.
The company mainly upgrades Ford Mustangs and F-150 pick-ups. Some vehicles are transported to Roush for upgrades, however, they also offer kits available to be fitted aftermarket.
There are various stages of tuning available from a stage 1 light tune, to a stage 3 that is near 700bhp. It is also possible to purchase a Ford Mustang tuned by Roush from a participating Ford dealer and the car be still covered under 3yr 36,000-mile limited manufacturer warranty.
Some of the upgraded vehicles are offered in limited numbers, meaning only very small numbers are made with a particular set-up. Fremont Ford in Sheridan were very excited when they mentioned they had number 01 of 84 with a stage 3 tune in the showroom at one point, and a Ford Mustang Roush 427R.
Package tunes start at around $6000 and up to as much as you want. Customizable packages are also available and can be coordinated through the dealerships on a new Mustang or F-150.
On 2017 Mustangs:
- Stage 1 delivers 340hp (2.3 I4)
- Stage 2 delivers 435hp (5.0L V8)
- Stage 3 delivers 670hp (5.0L V8)
As well as performance engine tuning, they can also enhance the vehicle cosmetically with spoilers, scoops and stickers. Depending on which stage tune, the suspension, aerodynamics, and handling characteristics are also improved.
They also supply aftermarket parts including:
- Superchargers
- Body Kits
- Suspension Systems
- Exhaust kits
- Brakes
- Graphics
- + Much more!
