Located between Yellowstone National Park and the Big Horn Mountains, Powell is a small town with a lot to offer. The town’s lush, green surroundings make it predominantly an agricultural community.
Today, Powell is also an educational hub, home to Northwest College and all the lively diversity, sports, and culture a college town has to offer. From golf and tennis to softball and ice hockey, Powell is an active recreational community.
Those who enjoy the outdoors couldn’t ask for more: fishing, hiking, hunting, rafting, and countless other activities are easily accessible in the nearby Big Horn and Yellowstone regions. Add to all of this a charming downtown area with shops and restaurants, Old West history, and friendly folks.

The city of lies about 52 miles east of Yellowstone National Park. Named for the Old West character Col. William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody. This community combines old and new to create a unique Western town. Here, real cowboys still herd cattle. Technology also connects Cody to the world and supports a thriving business community.
Once the heart of the Old West, today the city is a mix of industries. Energy, agriculture, tourism, and manufacturing are just some. There are a number of fine restaurants, superb shopping, and art galleries. Combine all that with one of the finest school districts in the Rocky Mountain region.
Spectacularly beautiful and unspoiled scenery, outstanding attractions, extensive outdoor recreation. Cody has it all.
Business is exploding in here, and Fremont Motor Company’s Rock Springs dealership is keeping up with the city’s fast growth. The oil and gas industry in southwestern Wyoming has propelled the population to 23,000. As a result, the Rock Springs dealership has had to expand.
The main facility was renovated to provide more offices and customer comfort. Six new bays have been added to the service department.

In 1862, the city served as a stage station for settlers bouncing along the Overland Trail. Today, the town and surrounding landscape still have a rugged feeling even though it’s located on Interstate 80.
It sits on a high desert with sand dunes, wild horses, desert elk, hunting, and fishing.
As a mining town, natural resources are a driving force behind the community’s booming economy. At the same time, the region averages 300 days of sunshine a year. Rock Springs offers plenty of opportunities to explore the wild country.
Just a few miles north of town is a striking landscape of badlands and sand dunes. Duneguide.com says “Killpecker sand dunes is the second largest active sand dune field in the world.”

The reservoir at nearby Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area offers miles of year-round boating and fishing. There are three marinas on “the Gorge” where boats and yachts enjoy the lake and red rock shoreline.
Below the dam, the Green River is renowned for its high-quality fishing, and it’s a lovely place to hike. You’ll find amenities in here that you’d expect in larger cities.
Western Wyoming Community College provides quality learning opportunities for students. Rock Springs also boasts museums, boutiques, two golf courses, shopping malls, and a community center. It’s frontier living with a twist of modern life.
