It’s not just a color, but a new badge. And the badge isn’t just for show either, according to Jeep.
Jeep Gladiator Mojave is ‘Desert Rated’
Inspired by Baja racing in the desert. Jeep have brought out a new Gladiator edition that’s ready for ‘high-speed off-road desert and sand terrains’ they said during the reveal. Gladiator Mojave edition is capable of 50mph in 4-low ( Rubicon’s top out at 32mph).
Test criteria of a Jeep to be Desert Rated;
- Ride Control and Stability,
- Traction,
- Ground Clearance,
- Maneuverability
- Desert Prowess.
Gladiator Mojave editions have desert-tuned suspension to conquer stability and ride control in desert terrain. Suspension is enhanced with FOX front hydraulic jounce bumpers (to prevent bottoming out). Jeep states that this also while delivers, “a comfortable ride over gravel washboards or broken pavement on the backroads.” (I know the perfect road in Wyoming to test this on!)
Jeep says by strategically delivering power, the Mojave Gladiator is able to gain more traction on unpredictable surfaces such as sand, loose gravel, and dirt.
Ground clearance is 11.6″ which is 0.5″ more than the Rubicon. Maneuverability is achieved with nimble and responsive handling. Desert Prowess is shown through withstanding intense desert heat, coarse sand, dust, and loose gravel.
