Available for 2021, is the Ford F-150 Tremor. Ford’s off-road package has already been introduced on the Super Duty and mid-size Ranger, and soon it’ll be available on the half-ton.

“Like Super Duty and Ranger..., introducing the all-new F-150 Tremor is a direct response to seeing how customers use our trucks to enable their outdoor lifestyles,” said Todd Eckert, Ford truck group marketing manager.

What does an F-150 Tremor have?

Upgraded suspension

Ford F-150 Tremor has upgraded suspension consisting of retuned front and rear springs, adding extra ground clearance and travel. Twin-tube shock absorbers on the rear and monotube shock absorbers on the front, are specific to Tremor and allow for softer dampening at slow speeds. This also allows for more control off-road. Front hub knuckles and upper control arms are also revised to match.

33-inch Tires

General Grabber 33-inch, all-terrain tires come as standard on the 18-inch matte-finish wheels. Along with the suspension upgrade, riding on 33’s gives the half-ton Tremor 1.5-inches more total travel in the rear with 1-inch upfront.

Torque on Demand transfer case

Ford says, “This cutting-edge case merges all-wheel-drive and four-wheel-drive capabilities to handle virtually any off-road environment.”

Rock Crawl Mode

Standard drive modes include; Normal, Sport, Eco, Tow/Haul, Slippery and Seep Snow/Sand, Mut/Rut, but F-150 Tremor adds Rock Crawl mode. Rock Crawl mode engages the locking rear differential automatically while turning off traction control, reducing throttle response and adjusting transmission shift points. A 360 degree camera is ana available extra and if equipped, the camera will also automatically turn on during Rock Crawl mode.

Trail Control and Trail One-Pedal Drive

Adding to the off-road features is a system called Trail One-Pedal Drive. This system means the driver only needs one pedal to control the vehicle. The truck automatically applies the brakes proportionately upon release of the accelerator making tough terrain and rock-crawling less strenuous on the driver. Trail Control and Hill Descent Control are also standard.

Raptor-style Bash Plate

Protecting the undercarriage of the truck is a Raptor-style back plate that covers the front-end components.

Trail Turn Assist

In tight off-road turns, Trail Turn Assist reduces the steering radius by applying some braking to the inside rear wheel. This allows for tighter turns at slow speeds.

An Aggressive Hood and Orange Accents

Actually the whole front end gets a more aggressive look along with a unique hood and blacked-out Ford oval. Badging and interior accents get a splash of ‘Active’ Orange.
